Is Milk Good For You?

Cows milk was designed for baby cows, not humans. The countries with the lowest bone fractures , like Africa and Asia, also have the lowest consumption of milk, so how come we are told that it is so good for us?

Sadly it was a marketing exercise, with no scientific proof behind it. Vested interest and lobbyists in the American government pushed to alter the food pyramid, and an unhealthy nation, and world, is the result.

The calcium in leafy greens is much better absorbed by our body.

More than 70% of the population is intolerant to milk, and the rest of us should not drink it anyway.

In his book ‘The Calcium Lie 2’ Dr Robert Thompson says that calcium is only one of 12 minerals that strengthen bones.

‘If you take calcium to strengthen your bones, and you already have an excess of calcium in your body, you are signing your own death warrant’

And most of us all ready have an excess of calcium in our body.

Excess calcium causes kidney and gall stones; arterial plaque; bone spurs; calcium deposits in tissues other than bones; brain shrinkage and dementia.

Thompson suggests we stop eating all dairy, and supplement with sea salt to replace our depleted minerals and help our bones.

Dr Mercola also suggests that we take K2, to drive the calcium out of our tissues, and into our bones.

He also states

‘Milk and refined sugar make two of the largest contributions to food induced ill health in our country. That may seem like an overly harsh statement, but when one examines the evidence, this is a reasonable conclusion.’

And

‘Cow’s milk is the number one allergic food in this country. It has been well documented as a cause in diarrhea, cramps, bloating, gas, gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anemia, skin rashes, atherosclerosis, and acne.

It is the primary cause of recurrent ear infections in children. It has also been linked to insulin dependent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, and leukemia.’

Mercola also states

‘  The list of problems that have been associated with the consumption of milk and dairy products includes iron deficiency anemia, allergies, diarrhea, heart disease, colic, cramps, gastrointestinal bleeding, sinusitis, skin rashes, acne, arthritis, diabetes, ear infections, osteoporosis, asthma, autoimmune diseases and possibly even lung cancer, multiple sclerosis and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.’

Dairy products are acid forming, and produce mucous that increase the frequency of colds and flu.

Cows are fed hormones and antibiotics that are absorbed by us when we eat their meat and drink their milk.

If you want a creamy taste, use nut milk. Don’t but the ready made variety as there are lots of additives, cheap oils and calcium for example, which are damaging to your health.

Nut Milk Recipe

Pre soak the nuts for at least 20 minutes, or overnight to remove the phylates. Discard the water .Add new water and blend. Strain through a nut bag, or use as it is for extra fiber.

Adjust the water:nut ratio to suit. Try different nuts for different flavours and health benefits. Add vanilla, spices or stevia for variety.

Refrigerate.
